Mary Jacobson, YFAS developer, teacher & trainer, with her mom, Patricia

Mary Jacobson (Fatehbir Kaur) began working with seniors at an assisted living facility in 2012, after her mother became a resident there. She tried to find teaching resources aimed at these students but none existed to meet their complex challenges. Over time, she found ways to adapt traditional breath work, meditation, and seated postures to create an ideal practice for those coping with a variety of geriatric condtions.  Through teacher training, Mary hopes to expand the reach of Yoga for All Seniors to bring service and attention to students who most need the benefits of a committed practice.

She  began practicing Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan in 2004 and immediately benefited from the group energy and healing sound current. She is certified as a KRI Level 1 and 2 instructor from Yoga West Los Angeles under the guidance of her mentor, Guru Singh. She is also registered with Yoga Alliance through a 200-hour certification at Shakta Yoga Teacher Training with Tanya Greve and Lauren Maher, who are experienced in such diverse styles as Hatha, Anusara, Kundalini, Yoga Therapy, Restorative and pre- and post-natal.
